Slowly but surely I am running out of new options while booking new first class hotels in KL close to Malaysia’s city center. I haven’t stayed at a Mariott chain hotel in years so I wanted to add this experience to my hotel review blog and followed up with a last minute booking of the Renaissance Hotel. Unfortunately, they were booked solid due to the World Economic Forum they were hosting on those dates, but I was still able to get a regular single room on a lower floor for around 120 USD per night. As said, it was a busy time and I was not able to test all facilities. Their swimming pool beats all other hotels in KLCC area. Renaissance’s gym is large and functional. I bought myself a pair of new sneakers and Adidas pants to try it out and was glad I did. There is an outdoor tennis court for those you want to exercise even more. The room was big and comfortable with a wide variety of pillows in different shapes. You can actually specify the type of pillows you prefer while booking this hotel. I would say, Renaissance is on par with Sheraton in Kuala Lumpur – what an coincidence both hotels are basically next door to each other. However, next time KL is on my schedule again it will be back at Westin’s club rooms as they are my favorite.
